Amazon Associates : Please Read

Postby adfly » Wed Jan 26, 2011 11:29 pm

Adf.ly Advertisers,

It has come to our attention that Amazon Associates advertising on adf.ly may be in violation of their Operating Agreement.

‘transitional page advertisements’ is currently prohibited.

Please check the terms of the agreement carefully and if in any doubt, contact Amazon Associates for clarification.

While x19 Limited (owner and operator of adf.ly) will not be held responsible for any violations of an agreement between you and another company, we have a moral duty to at least make you aware that Amazon Associates may close your account without pay.

With that said, it is your choice whether you wish to continue with your campaign, we will send traffic to any URL you wish as long as it does not break our rules.

If you require a refund for the remaining traffic, please contact us with your campaign reference number:

Yes I don't get it either. We are doing what they want us to do. Promoting their site and Promoting a item. From what I hear there cookie only last for about 24 hours. So since we paid for their site to get seen, why shouldn't we still be in good standings to receive our commissions.

Still loving Adf.ly though

Hello all readers,

Today I wrote a letter to Amazon due to my blocked account ( as a matter of fact, it was me who alerted the staff here what happened to my account and thus generating this thread  )

I am really very curious to read their reaction and will certainly put up their answer here.

Is there anybody out there who had the same problem ?

Take care

Because essentially what your doing is cookie stuffing. The user planned to purchase the product whether you send them there or not. Only diffrence is your getting credit for it.

This was their response:

Thank you for writing back to us about your account. Please note, Associates aren’t permitted to use certain methods of advertisement to drive traffic to the Amazon site. This includes the use of transitional page advertisements, which are displayed before the user is directed to another site or while the user is viewing sites which include this kind of advertisement. Here is the portion of the Participation Requirements included in the Operating Agreement which addresses this issue:

23. You will not post or serve any Special Links or other content promoting the Amazon Site within any pop-up or pop-under windows, transitional page ads, or layer ads around or in conjunction with the display of any site that is not your site.

I hope this information is helpful to you in understanding the reasons for your account closure. Thank you for your interest in the Associates Program.

I am trying to get my account back but who knows.

Hi,

My Amazon account was closed also. I wrote 2 emails to them asking for reinstatement, and this was their final reply:

Hello,

I have reviewed your account and confirmed that the decision to close your Associates account is final. Because this decision is final, further requests to review your account for reinstatement will not receive a response.

However, if you wish you may reapply to join the Associates Program on the condition you agree to abide by all the terms set forth in the Operating Agreement. I want to be sure you are aware that if you successfully reapply and your new account is found to violate the Operating Agreement, it will be closed without notification. Before reapplying, please carefully review the Operating Agreement by following this link:

Thanks again for your interest in the Associates Program.

Best regards,

Gary - Associates Account Specialist

They have kept my very hard earned commission.

Checking on the Andrew Giotti forum, there are many people who have followed his Amazon multipler system, and had their Amazon account closed.

Hi all,
I recently carried out a UK campaign using an Amazon.UK link (finished last week) and have just got a bit worried after seeing this warning.
My account has not been banned yet but am worried in case it takes a while before Amazon pick up on what I did?
I have just launched another UK campaign but have used my Inkfrog url as link : http://showcase.inkfrog.com/all-top-gear
Inkfrog is a 3rd party service which allows me to list items for Ebay and the showcase is a website shop front that Inkfrog give you to display your Ebay items.
My question is:
Could this be a against Ebay T & C as with Amazon though I am not linking directly to an Ebay link/page but to Inkfrog?
Can anyone advise please?
