I have a 3 year old dog with idiopathic epilepsy who became ill so my vet began him on a course of doxycycline as his symptoms appeared like they were a tick borne illness. His bloodwork came back negative for any tick disease but we finished the course of doxy anyway. His seizures stopped for almost 4 months. Since he usually seizes every 10-14 days or so, I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of any connection between doxycycline and seizures? My vet was unaware but said the doxy was slightly an anti inflammatory. Anyone else heard of this or experienced it?
